The 13th Aviation Battalion ("Guardian") used assets from the DELTA Provisional Aviation Battalion and served with the 12th Aviation Group at Can Tho. On 30 July 1966 the battalion was placed under direct 1st Aviation Brigade control. In December 1967 it became part of the DELTA Provisional Aviation Group and on 20 December 1967 became part of the 164th Aviation Group. The group was located at Can Tho and Soc Trang and provided army aviation to allied forces in IV Corps Tactical Zone. The following units served under the battalion.
